Plagiarism and Publication Ethics
Academic Integrity
SICET strictly adheres to high standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. All authors are expected to observe these principles before, during, and after the submission process.
Core Ethical Responsibilities
- Originality: Submissions must be entirely original work produced by the stated authors.
- Plagiarism: Any form of plagiarism is unacceptable. Plagiarism thresholds are configured dynamically by the administrative committee. Papers exceeding the acceptable similarity index will be rejected.
- Duplicate Submission: Authors must not submit the same manuscript concurrently to multiple conferences or journals.
- Authorship Responsibility: All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the research and approved the final manuscript.
- Data Integrity: Data and results must be authentic. Fabrication or falsification of data is strictly prohibited.
- Image Manipulation: Images, charts, and graphs must not be manipulated in a way that alters the scientific interpretation.
- Citation Practices: Authors must appropriately cite and acknowledge the work of others.
- Copyright Permissions: If authors use third-party copyrighted material, they must obtain the necessary written permissions.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could inappropriately influence their work.
- Confidentiality: Reviewers and committee members will treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents.
Post-Publication Actions
- Corrections: Minor errors discovered post-publication may be addressed via a formal erratum or corrigendum.
- Retractions: Papers found to contain severe ethical breaches (e.g., fabricated data, severe plagiarism) after publication will be formally retracted.
- Complaints and Appeals: Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions or file complaints regarding the review process by contacting SICET support.
Grounds for Immediate Decline
Submissions may be immediately declined without further review for the following reasons:
- Copied or heavily plagiarized content.
- Fabricated or falsified empirical results.
- Duplicate or concurrent submissions.
- False or misleading author details and affiliations.
- Unethical content or research methods violating human/animal rights.
- Blatant copyright violations.
